The Beta-CathT System contains a licensable quantity of radioactive Strontium-90. Accordingly, institutions must have a valid Radioactive Materials License in order to possess and use the Beta-CathT System. Although most institutions are licensed to possess radioactive material for medical use, most will require a license amendment to scope use of Strontium-90 in the Beta-CathT System for intravascular brachytherapy in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
